Scott Anthony Selected as Mr. Palm Springs Leather (released 11-18-09)
In front of a packed house of 500 at the glamorous Palm Springs Convention Center, Scott Anthony (pictured right) was awarded the title of Mr. Palm Springs Leather 2010 this past Saturday night. Todd Parker, Mr, Barracks Leather, won the First Runner-Up medal. The Mr. Palm Springs Leather Contest is the centerpiece of Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert’s annual Leather Pride Celebration.

Scott bested a field of four in a close competition that also included Chris Bates, Mr. Tool Shed Leather and Larry Galston, Mr. Leather Toucan’s.

Scott, 43, has reddish-brown hair and brown eyes and stands six feet tall. He moved to Palm Springs five years ago from San Diego after ending a twenty-four year career as a retail executive, most recently at Kohl’s Department Stores. He has served as a caregiver ever since. Scott’s speech was about advocating for the rights of transnational gay and lesbian partners, a subject with which he is quite familiar, as his partner is a foreign national himself. Scott is also Mr. Streetbar Leather 2010, a title he won in that bar’s inaugural contest this past October.

Scott won a prize package that included a three year premium membership to  Recon.com; a custom leather uniform from Gear Leather and Fetish; custom chaps from Tuff Stuff Leatherware; and up to $2500 from Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert to pay for his travel to the famed International Mr. Leather Contest this Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago, where he will represent the city of Palm Springs.

Exciting New Venue for Leather Contest & Dark Dance (released 11-07-09)
Due to the fire at Confession Nightclub and Lounge, this year’s Mr. Palm Springs Leather Contest and Recon Victory Dark Dance have moved to the Palm Springs Convention Center.

With its dramatic, undulating ceilings, superb acoustics and landmark architecture, the Convention Center will be a stunning backdrop for our Contest and Dance. We're excited to be able to bring Mr. Palm Springs Leather to the same home that has hosted numerous glamorous star-studded galas, California’s most prestigious pageants and the legendary Palm Springs White Party and Dinah Shore Weekend events.

Being at the Convention Center will allow us to take our production to a whole new level. We’ll have better staging and lighting and be able to accommodate more people more comfortably. And frankly, with this year’s sexy contestants, we had already anticipated that we would need the extra room. It’s going to be a super night!

All street-legal fetish gear is acceptable at the venue. Per California law, bare-butt chaps are allowed, as long as they are worn over a jock that has a one-inch strap between the butt cheeks.

A live auction of a custom leather jacket from 665 and a one-year membership to World Gym with ten personal training sessions will also be held.
